"Lady Pokingham" was written by an anonymous author, and was serialised in the Victorian erotic magazine "The Pearl" over several volumes. It tells the story of the beautiful Lady Pokingham, who, now suffering from consumption, looks back on her hedonistic, salacious life and reflects on the marvellous moments she shared in her quest for sexual gratification. Other characters' stories also feature in her memoirs, and in this extract, we are privy to a wild party, organised by Beatrice Pokingham's close friend, Lady Alice, to celebrate her brother Fred's eighteenth birthday. Much sensual fun is had by all (including Beatrice).
